Explore the wonders of Tanzania’s wildlife and culture on our 7-day “Savannah Splendor” safari adventure. Journey from the lush forests of Lake Manyara to the sweeping plains of the Serengeti and descend into the majestic Ngorongoro Crater. Encounter iconic wildlife, including the Big Five, and immerse yourself in Maasai traditions. After breakfast, we leave with packed lunch and go for a game drive in Lake Manyara; The Park is famous for its tree-climbing lions, elephants, hippos and colorful birds, Alternative (instead of game drive safari in Manyara): After breakfast, we drive to nearby Mto wa Mbu area (4+ miles from Manyara Park’s gate) to do an approximately two hour cultural tour which will include visiting banana or rice plantations as well as a walking safari with traditional healers who will explain the medicinal values of the indigenous plants. We will leave in the afternoon and drive to overnight in Karatu.
After breakfast leave Karatu with parked lunch and drive to an on-route game drive to Serengeti national park with optional ($60/group) visit of Maasai village, or optional ($36/person) visit to Olduvai Gorge. Afternoon game drives in Serengeti searching for the predators and the herbivores the feed on the Serengeti Savannah.
We will spend more days doing game drives in Serengeti exploring the rolling plains of Serengeti National Park in search of the large predators and the gentle herbivores on which they feed,
After breakfast, we will have another game drive in Serengeti, and then drive to overnight in Ngorongoro with an optional visit to a Masai Village ($60/vehicle), or optional visit of Olduvai Gorge ($36/person).
After breakfast, we leave with picnic lunch and descend into the Ngorongoro Crater exploring the short grass plains of the largest intact caldera in the world. The crater enjoys its enduring charm stems from the overwhelming physical beauty and the abundance of wildlife permanently resident on the crater floor. This extinct volcano embraces 100sq miles alive with lions, leopard, rhino, elephant, buffalo, and many games, then later in the late afternoon leaves the crater and drive back to overnight in Karatu.
Today, after breakfast, we drive to Tarangire National Park with picnic lunch; the park is renowned for its large elephant population. Game drives in the park.
Later in the afternoon, drive back to overnight in Arusha.
