“ The Paradise of Elephants”
Tarangire Nations is located 121 Km From Arusha City.
The park is impressively splendid for its famous concentration of wild animals especially the elephant and it is also one of the finest birds destinations in East Africa with the estimation of 550 of birds species; of which several of them are threatened or endemic. Tarangire has a spectacular nature beauty of Savanna landscape and majestic Baobabs.
Apart from large concentration of elephants, Tarangire is also known as a home for other animals such as elands, giraffe, lions, buffalo, cheetah, leopards and Zebra. These animals are easily spotted when you are in four-wheel drive.
The Name of the park is originated from Tarangire river that crosses the park and cover an area of 2850 km2.
